Congregational prayers in mosques are generally carried out together by men and women. It is different from the Assalam Mosque in Purwakarta Regency, which carries out the practice of living hadith forbidding women from participating in congregational prayers at the mosque. Departing from this practice, this study wants to examine what hadith is the basis for the prohibition, how it is implemented, and how the public's reception is towards it. This research is a type of field research that uses qualitative methods with living hadith theory, phenomenology and reception approaches. Primary data was obtained directly from respondents in the field and secondary data was obtained through literature studies in the form of books, hadith books, journals, articles and others. The results of this research are; First, the prohibition on congregational prayers for women at the Assalam Mosque is implemented based on the hadith of the Prophet SAW narrated by Imam Ahmad no. 26969 which was understood by the administrators of the Assalam Mosque as the "refined" language of the Prophet SAW which forbade women to pray in congregation at the mosque, then it was implemented until it became a custom/habit since ancient times until now with the aim of protecting nakedness, slander and harm for women. Second, based on reception from the community through interpretation through historical, sociological and anthropological understanding, it turns out that the community is still pro and contra to the practice of living hadith prohibiting congregational prayers for women at the Assalam Mosque, Purwakarta district.
