Author Guidelines

Papers submitted for publication must conform to the following guidelines:

  1. Papers should discuss issues related to quranic and hadith studies, such as ‘Ulūm al-Quran, ’Ulūm al-Ḥadīth, Tafsir al-Qur'an, Living Quran, contemporary perspective on quranic and hadith studies;
  2. The paper should be typed with one and a half spaces on B5 paper size;
  3. The length of the paper is about 5,000-7,000 words;
  4. All submissions must include an abstract of 150-200 words;
  5. Full names of authors must be included, along with their institutions;
  6. The paper should be sent to the Online Submission Diya al-Afkar : Journal of Qur'anic and Tafsir Studies with http://www.syekhnurjati.ac.id/jurnal/index.php/diya/index (registered). The register guide can be downloaded here;
  7. The structure of the article includes Title; Author, email, institution; Abstract and Keywords; Introduction, including the research methods used; Discussion; Conclusion; and Bibliography;
  8. All manuscripts must be in OpenOffice or Microsoft Word document file format;
  9. Arabic letters must be written: ', b, t, th, j, ḥ, kh, d, dh, r, z, z, s, sh, ṣ, ḍ, ṭ, ẓ, ’, gh, f, q, l, m, n, h, w, y. Short vowels: a, i, u. Long vowels: ā, ī, ū. Diphthongs: aw, ay.   10. Bibliographic references should be written in footnotes and bibliography according to Diya al-Afkar: Journal of Qur'anic Studies and Tafsir
  11. When a source is cited for the first time, full information is given: full name of the author, title of the source in italics, place of publication, publishing company, date of publication, and pages cited. For subsequent citations of the same source, include the author's surname, two or three words from the title, and the specific page number. The word ibid. should not be used, nor should cit. and loc.cit.
