Peran Konselor terhadap Anak Broken Home: Analisis Dampak

Broken home diartikan sebagai kondisi keluarga yang itdak serasi dan tidak berfungsi sebagai mana semestinya karena sering terjadi perselisihan yang berujung pada perrpisahan atau perceraian. Anak-anak yang broken home tidak hanya anak-anak yang berasal dari perceraian orang tua, tetapi juga anak-anak yang berasal dari keluarga yang tidak utuh atau tidak harmonis. Banyak faktor yang melatarbelakangi broken home, termasuk pertengkaran orang tua, perceraian, dan kesibukan orang tua sehingga memunculkan dampak broken home terhadap psikologis anak antara lain yaitu anak-anak mulai menderita kecemasan dan ketakutan yang tinggi. anak-anak merasa terjepit di tengah, karena harus memilih antara ibu atau ayah, anak sering memiliki rasa bersalah dan memungkinkan anak-anak dapat membenci salah satu orang tua mereka. Salah satu upaya yang dapat dilakukan Konselor untuk mengatasi keluarga broken home adalah konselor dapat melaukukan konseling keluarga yaitu terdiri dari interaksi antar keluarga, kontrak awal sebelum melakukan konseling. Hal ini bertujuan untuk membantu keluarga berkomunikasi pada sesi awal, serta meningkatakan kesadaran dan dinamika keluarga, memadukan konseling individual dengan kerja keluarga keseluruhan. Konseling keluarga juga melibatkan seluruh anggota keluarga.
