Author Guidelines

1. Articles that will be published in Al Tarbiyah is a research result in educational field as described in the Focus and Scope.

2. Before the authors submit the article, the signed Publication Ethical Statement and the Letter of Copyright need to be sent by email altarbiyah@syekhnurjati.ac.id

3. Articles submitted to the Journal must be less than 15 pages and fully written in English.

5. Title. The title of the article should be less than 15 words and should be written in capitalized, centered style with font size 14. The title should present an overview of the research which is expressed in concise, clear, and informative words. The title of the article should not mention the place and time of research.

6. Authors names and institutions. The complete name(s) of the author is written without any academic titles and placed under the article title. It is followed by the university where the author(s) is currently working e.g. UIN Siber Syekh Nurjati Cirebon and the country, e.g. Indonesia. An active email address should also be written under the university.

7. Abstract. The title Abstract is explicitly written in bold. It is written in a single paragraph of about 180-200 words. It is written without headings and covers the following contents: (1) Background, (2) Purpose of the Study, (3) Method, (4) Result, and (5) Conclusion.

8.Keywords. Below the abstract, about three to seven keywords containing the important terms and substance of the article must be written.

9.Introduction. The introduction should consist of the background of the study presenting the urgency of the issue being studied, supporting facts from the previous studies, gap analysis, and research status, reserach novelty, and reserach objectives. The introduction should be presented in the forms of paragraphs with the proportion of 15-20% of the whole article length.

10. Method. The method section consists of description concerning the research design, data sources, data collection, and data analysis with the proportion of 10-15% of the total article length presented in the form of paragraphs.

10. Findings and Discussion. The findings and discussion section comprises of description of the results of the data analysis to answer the research question(s) and their meanings seen from current theories and references of the area addressed. The proportion of this section is 40-60% of the total article length.

11. Conclusion.The conclusion section presents the summary or restatement of the main findings. It should include the purpose of the research, the research novelty, research limitations, and research recommendations.

12. Citations and References.Citations and references follows APA 7th style. Citation is done using bracket (last name and year of publication). When the sources are cited verbatim, page number is included (p. 78 or pp. 78-89).Every source cited in the body of the article should appear in the references, and all sources appearing in the references should be cited in the body of the article. References should be included at the end of the article. We recommend authors to use a reference management software, e.g. Mendeley to avoid typing mistakes and duplicated references. The sources cited should consist at least 20 up-to-date sources (published within the last 5 years) with 80% citations taken from journal articles, proceedings, or research results. The references used should be at least 20 references. Here are the examples of references using the APA 7th style.

13. Tables and Graphs. Horizontal lines are used when using tables. The table number and the title of the table are put on top of each table. The table content is written in Times New Roman Font size 11 with single spacing and 0pt before/after spacing. The number and the title are written under figures and graphs if any.

Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must meet the following requirements.

  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is 1.5-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  • If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.
