Author Guidelines

Equalita: Jurnal Studi Gender dan Anak welcomes original research articles and conceptual papers that contribute to the advancement of gender and child studies from multidisciplinary perspectives. Authors are encouraged to carefully follow these guidelines to facilitate a smooth editorial and peer-review process.
A. General Requirements
- Submitted manuscripts must discuss issues related to gender and children and fall within the journal's Focus and Scope.
- Manuscripts may be written in Bahasa Indonesia, English, or Arabic. English manuscripts are strongly encouraged to enhance international visibility.
- The manuscript must be an original scholarly work, free from plagiarism, and must not have been published or be under consideration by another journal or publisher.
- All submissions must be made electronically through the journal's Open Journal System (OJS).
- The journal applies a double-blind review system. Therefore, the manuscript file must not contain any author-identifying information, including names, affiliations, acknowledgements, ORCID IDs, or email addresses. Author metadata should only be entered through the OJS submission system.
- Manuscripts should be prepared using Microsoft Word (.doc/.docx) with a length of approximately 5,000–8,000 words, including tables, figures, references, and appendices.
- The reference list should contain at least 20 references, with a minimum of five primary references. Authors are strongly encouraged to cite recent publications (preferably within the last ten years) from reputable national and international journals.
B. Scope of Manuscripts
The journal publishes studies related to gender and children from various disciplinary perspectives, including but not limited to religion, education, economics, law, sociology, anthropology, politics, communication, psychology, history, culture, literature, theology, public policy, and interdisciplinary approaches.
C. Structure of Research Articles
- Title
Maximum 14 words, concise, informative, and attractive. The title must be presented in both Indonesian and English and written in Title Case. - Abstract
Provided in Indonesian and English, consisting of one paragraph (maximum 160 words). The abstract should clearly present:- Background or rationale
- Research objectives
- Methodology
- Main findings
- Novelty or contribution
- Keywords
Five keywords arranged alphabetically, representing the main concepts of the study. - Introduction
Contains background, research problems, objectives, theoretical framework, literature review, research gap, novelty, and research method in an integrated narrative. - Results
Present findings systematically using qualitative and/or quantitative analysis supported by tables or figures when necessary. - Discussion
Interpret findings critically by relating them to previous studies, relevant theories, and current scholarly debates. - Conclusion
Summarizes the major findings and answers the research objectives. Practical implications and recommendations for future studies may also be included. - References
References should be arranged alphabetically and primarily consist of recent scholarly publications. Authors are encouraged to use Mendeley or Zotero with APA 6th Edition citation style.
D. Structure of Conceptual Papers
Conceptual papers follow the same structure as research articles, except that the discussion should emphasize theoretical analysis, conceptual arguments, and scholarly synthesis. Authors are encouraged to enrich conceptual discussions with contextual illustrations, case examples, or empirical evidence from relevant sources.
E. Citation and Referencing
- Direct quotations containing fewer than 40 words should appear within quotation marks.
- Direct quotations exceeding 40 words should be formatted as block quotations.
- Indirect quotations should be paraphrased appropriately.
- Every quotation must include the author's name, publication year, and page number where applicable.
F. Tables and Figures
Tables and figures should be editable, numbered consecutively, provided with informative titles, and accompanied by source information when applicable. Visual elements should only be included when they significantly enhance the presentation of research findings.

Equalita: Jurnal Studi Gender dan Anak menerima artikel hasil penelitian maupun artikel konseptual yang memberikan kontribusi ilmiah terhadap pengembangan kajian gender dan anak dari berbagai disiplin ilmu. Penulis diharapkan mengikuti pedoman berikut agar proses editorial dan penelaahan dapat berlangsung secara efektif.
A. Persyaratan Umum
- Naskah harus membahas isu-isu mengenai gender dan anak sesuai dengan Fokus dan Ruang Lingkup jurnal.
- Naskah dapat ditulis dalam Bahasa Indonesia, Bahasa Inggris, atau Bahasa Arab. Penulis sangat dianjurkan menggunakan Bahasa Inggris untuk meningkatkan jangkauan internasional artikel.
- Naskah merupakan karya ilmiah asli, bebas plagiarisme, dan belum pernah dipublikasikan maupun sedang diproses pada jurnal lain.
- Seluruh naskah dikirim melalui sistem Open Journal System (OJS).
- Jurnal menerapkan sistem double-blind peer review. Oleh karena itu, file naskah tidak boleh memuat identitas penulis seperti nama, afiliasi, email, ORCID, maupun ucapan terima kasih.
- Naskah diketik menggunakan Microsoft Word dengan panjang sekitar 5.000–8.000 kata, termasuk tabel, gambar, daftar pustaka, dan lampiran.
- Daftar pustaka minimal terdiri atas 20 referensi, dengan sekurang-kurangnya 5 referensi primer. Penulis sangat dianjurkan menggunakan literatur ilmiah mutakhir, terutama artikel jurnal bereputasi yang diterbitkan dalam sepuluh tahun terakhir.
B. Ruang Lingkup Artikel
Artikel dapat membahas isu gender dan anak dari berbagai perspektif, seperti pendidikan, agama, hukum, ekonomi, politik, komunikasi, psikologi, sosiologi, antropologi, sejarah, budaya, sastra, teologi, kebijakan publik, maupun pendekatan interdisipliner lainnya.
C. Sistematika Artikel Penelitian
- Judul (maksimum 14 kata) disajikan dalam Bahasa Indonesia dan Bahasa Inggris.
- Abstrak dalam Bahasa Indonesia dan Bahasa Inggris (maksimum 160 kata) yang memuat latar belakang, tujuan penelitian, metode, hasil utama, dan kebaruan penelitian.
- Kata Kunci sebanyak lima kata atau frasa yang disusun secara alfabetis.
- Pendahuluan memuat latar belakang, rumusan masalah, tujuan penelitian, tinjauan pustaka, kerangka teori, gap penelitian, kebaruan, serta metode penelitian secara naratif.
- Hasil menyajikan temuan penelitian secara sistematis berdasarkan analisis data.
- Pembahasan menginterpretasikan hasil penelitian secara kritis dengan mengaitkannya pada teori, penelitian terdahulu, dan perkembangan literatur mutakhir.
- Kesimpulan memuat jawaban atas tujuan penelitian beserta implikasi dan rekomendasi apabila diperlukan.
- Daftar Pustaka disusun secara alfabetis menggunakan APA 6th Edition. Penggunaan aplikasi Mendeley atau Zotero sangat dianjurkan.
D. Sistematika Artikel Konseptual
Artikel konseptual mengikuti struktur yang sama dengan artikel penelitian, namun menekankan analisis konseptual, sintesis teori, serta argumentasi akademik. Penulis dianjurkan memperkuat pembahasan dengan ilustrasi kontekstual atau contoh empiris yang relevan.
E. Sitasi
- Kutipan langsung kurang dari 40 kata menggunakan tanda kutip.
- Kutipan lebih dari 40 kata ditulis dalam bentuk block quotation.
- Kutipan tidak langsung ditulis dalam bentuk parafrase.
- Seluruh kutipan wajib mencantumkan nama penulis, tahun, dan nomor halaman apabila tersedia.
F. Tabel dan Gambar
Tabel dan gambar harus dapat diedit, diberi nomor secara berurutan, memiliki judul yang informatif, serta mencantumkan sumber apabila diperlukan. Penggunaan tabel maupun gambar hanya dilakukan apabila benar-benar mendukung penyajian hasil penelitian.
