Guide for Authors

EL-IBTIKAR: Jurnal Pendidikan Bahasa Arab

Welcome to the EL-IBTIKAR submission guidelines. Authors are expected to ensure that their manuscripts align with the high standards of academic integrity and the specific formatting requirements of this journal before submission.

Technical Requirements

Submitted articles must meet the following criteria:

  • Originality: Must be an original scientific work in the field of Arabic studies.
  • Exclusivity: The manuscript has never been published and is not under review elsewhere.
  • Typography: Written in Times New Roman (TNR), 11 pt font.
  • Article Length: Approximately 38,000 to 40,000 characters without spaces.

Manuscript Structure

The manuscript must be organized in the following order:

  1. Title: Short and concise (max 12 words) in English.
  2. Authors: Full names without academic titles, written in Bold TNR 11.
  3. Abstract: Written in English, Indonesian (TNR 10), and Arabic (Traditional Arabic 18). It must be a single paragraph of max 200 words.
  4. Keywords: 3 to 5 terms.
  5. Main Content: Follows the IMRaD structure (Introduction, Method, Results, and Discussion).

Article Proportions

To ensure academic depth, authors must follow the specific length distribution for each section:

Introduction 20% Includes background, gap analysis, and objectives.
Method 10-15% 10% for Qualitative; 15% for Quantitative.
Findings & Discussion Min. 60% Findings presented first, followed by separate discussion.
Conclusion & References ~10% Meaningful substance and final references.

Specific Formatting & Math

Standardizing technical data is crucial for publication quality:

  • Decimal Points: Use a dot (.), e.g., 12.34.
  • Large Numbers: Thousands are marked with commas, e.g., 1,200,300.
  • Values below 1: No leading zero, e.g., p = .008.
  • Tables: Horizontal lines only for the header and footer (no vertical lines).
  • Citations: Mandatory use of Mendeley/Zotero with APA 7th Edition.

Declaration of Generative AI

Elsevier Policy Alignment

Authors should only use generative AI and AI-assisted technologies to improve the readability and language of the manuscript. These tools cannot be listed as authors.

Mandatory Statement:
"During the preparation of this work, the author(s) used [NAME TOOL] in order to [REASON]. After using this tool, the author(s) reviewed and edited the content as needed and take full responsibility for the publication."
