Archiving Policy
Digital Preservation, Backup, and Continued Access

ORASI: Jurnal Dakwah dan Komunikasi is committed to ensuring the long-term preservation, security, and accessibility of its published scholarly content. This archiving policy describes the journal's approach to protecting digital files, preserving published articles, maintaining bibliographic metadata, and supporting continued access to scholarly publications.

01 Electronic Backup

The journal's digital content, including published articles, galley files, supplementary materials, and bibliographic metadata, should be backed up periodically by the journal's technical administrator or hosting provider.

Backup copies should be maintained separately from the primary production environment whenever technically feasible. The integrity of backup files and the availability of restoration procedures should be checked periodically to reduce the risk of data loss caused by technical failures or other disruptions.

02 Digital Preservation

ORASI supports the long-term preservation of its scholarly publications through appropriate digital preservation practices. These may include the following measures, subject to availability and implementation:

LOCKSS and CLOCKSS

Distributed archiving systems such as LOCKSS or CLOCKSS may be used where the journal participates in and has configured the relevant preservation service. These systems can support the preservation and recovery of digital journal content.

Digital Article Files

Published articles should be retained in stable digital formats, such as PDF, together with their associated publication information and metadata to support future access and retrieval.

Metadata Preservation

Bibliographic metadata, including article titles, author names, abstracts, keywords, publication dates, and DOI information where applicable, should be maintained accurately to facilitate indexing, discovery, and scholarly citation.

03 Persistent Identifiers and Metadata Access

ORASI aims to maintain reliable bibliographic records and persistent identifiers for its published articles. Where a DOI has been assigned, the journal will make reasonable efforts to keep DOI metadata accurate and associated links functional.

The journal's metadata may be made available through the Open Archives Initiative Protocol for Metadata Harvesting (OAI-PMH), subject to the functionality of the journal platform, to support metadata harvesting, indexing, and scholarly discovery.

04 Continued Access and Availability

ORASI seeks to maintain access to its published articles through the journal's official website. Published content should remain accessible to readers in accordance with the journal's applicable licensing and open-access policies.

In the event of a website migration, platform change, or technical disruption, the journal will make reasonable efforts to preserve publication records, maintain persistent links where applicable, and restore access to previously published content.

05 Policy Implementation and Review

The editorial team, in coordination with the journal's technical administrator or hosting provider, is responsible for overseeing the implementation of this policy. Archiving procedures should be reviewed periodically and improved when necessary to support the integrity, security, and long-term availability of the journal's scholarly record.

Commitment to Long-Term Preservation

ORASI: Jurnal Dakwah dan Komunikasi recognizes digital preservation as an essential part of responsible scholarly publishing. Through appropriate backup, preservation, and access practices, the journal aims to protect its scholarly record for current and future readers.
