4. Responsibilities of Authors

Authors publishing in ORASI are responsible for ensuring that they have the rights and permissions necessary to submit and publish their work. Authors are expected to:

  • Ensure that the submitted manuscript is original and that all sources are properly cited.
  • Identify third-party content, including images, photographs, tables, figures, maps, and other materials, where applicable.
  • Obtain permission for third-party materials when permission is required.
  • Provide accurate information about copyright, licensing, and acknowledgements.
  • Disclose any material that is subject to separate licence terms or restrictions.
  • Ensure that the article does not unlawfully infringe the rights of others.

5. Third-Party Materials and Exceptions

Unless explicitly stated otherwise, the CC BY 4.0 licence applies to the article content covered by the licence notice. Third-party materials included in an article may be subject to separate copyright or licensing conditions.

Users should check the following:
  • Credit lines or captions identifying a different copyright holder.
  • Separate licence notices attached to photographs, illustrations, figures, maps, or other content.
  • Restrictions or permission requirements stated by the original rights holder.
  • Applicable privacy, publicity, moral rights, or other legal requirements that may affect reuse.

Users are responsible for determining whether additional permission is required before reusing material that is not covered by the article's CC BY 4.0 licence.

6. Adaptation, Distribution, and Responsible Reuse

Users may create and distribute translations, teaching resources, derivative research materials, and other adaptations of content licensed under CC BY 4.0. When doing so, users must provide attribution, include the licence reference, identify modifications where applicable, and avoid implying endorsement by the original author or ORASI.

Reuse of a published article must not misrepresent the original research, distort its findings, or suggest that the journal or author supports conclusions introduced by another party. The licence grants permissions for the licensed material but does not itself certify the accuracy of subsequent adaptations.

7. Author's Rights to Share and Reuse

Authors may share and distribute their published work in accordance with the CC BY 4.0 licence and applicable legal requirements. Authors may also enter into separate, additional arrangements for the non-exclusive distribution of the published version of their work, such as depositing it in an institutional repository or including it in a book, provided that the initial publication in ORASI is appropriately acknowledged.

Authors are encouraged to disseminate their research responsibly to support scholarly communication, educational use, and wider access to knowledge.

8. Open Access and Licence Identification

ORASI supports open access to scholarly publications. The applicable licence should be clearly identified on the journal website and, where appropriate, in published article files and accompanying publication metadata so that readers can understand the permissions and conditions for reuse.

Readers and users should consult the licence notice associated with the relevant article, particularly when a publication contains third-party material or a separate rights statement.
