The journal's archiving practices may include:
- Maintaining published articles and issue records within the journal's OJS platform.
- Retaining publication metadata, including article titles, authors, abstracts, publication dates, and DOI information where available.
- Creating digital backups of journal content and relevant publication records as part of its preservation efforts.
- Maintaining access to previously published issues through the journal's archive.
- Reviewing digital preservation practices to reduce the risk of data loss and disruption to online access.
The journal aims to protect its scholarly content against accidental loss, technical failure, and other risks that may affect the availability of digital publications.
2. Long-Term Accessibility
Prophetic is committed to supporting continued access to its published articles and archived issues. Readers can access available publications through the journal website:
Browse published issues and access available articles through the official journal platform.
View Journal Archive ↗The journal endeavors to keep archived content accessible even when an issue is no longer current. Persistent identifiers, including DOIs where assigned, help readers identify and cite published articles accurately.
In the event of a technical disruption or platform migration, the journal will make reasonable efforts to restore access to its published content and maintain the integrity of its bibliographic records.
3. Digital Backup and Content Security
Digital backup is an important component of the journal's efforts to protect its publications and editorial records. The journal seeks to maintain appropriate backup practices to reduce the risk of permanent data loss arising from technical problems, accidental deletion, or system failure.
Where applicable, backup and recovery procedures may cover:
- Published article files and supplementary materials.
- Issue-level publication records and article metadata.
- Bibliographic information and persistent identifier records.
- Relevant journal website and publication management data.
Access to administrative systems and preservation files should be limited to authorized personnel. The journal seeks to maintain the integrity of archived content and prevent unauthorized alteration or loss.
4. Repository Policy and Author Self-Archiving
Prophetic supports responsible dissemination of scholarly work through institutional repositories and other appropriate academic platforms, subject to the journal's copyright, licensing, and publication policies.
Authors may deposit and share their work in accordance with the applicable copyright and licensing terms. Where permitted, authors are encouraged to:
- Deposit the published article or another permitted version in an institutional or subject-based repository.
- Include the complete bibliographic citation of the article.
- Provide a link to the official version of record on the Prophetic website.
- Include the DOI or another persistent identifier where available.
- Respect the applicable license, copyright conditions, and third-party permissions.
Repository deposit is intended to increase the visibility, discoverability, accessibility, and long-term availability of scholarly research. Authors remain responsible for ensuring that their deposits comply with the applicable terms governing their published work.
5. Digital Preservation Services
The journal may participate in recognized digital preservation services or repository networks to strengthen the long-term preservation of its published content. Such services may include preservation networks supported by scholarly publishing infrastructure, institutional repositories, or other suitable archiving systems.
Any specific preservation service, network, or external repository will be identified in this policy when its participation has been confirmed and is operational. The journal will not represent an external preservation service as active unless participation can be verified.
Prophetic seeks to strengthen its digital preservation infrastructure and review suitable preservation services as part of its ongoing commitment to long-term scholarly accessibility.
6. Continuity of Access and Website Migration
If the journal website undergoes maintenance, migration, or technical restructuring, the editorial team will make reasonable efforts to maintain access to previously published content and preserve article metadata, DOI links, and issue records.
Where changes to the website affect publication URLs, the journal will seek to maintain valid redirects or provide updated links when technically feasible. The objective is to minimize broken links and ensure that readers can continue to locate and cite previously published research.
7. Responsibilities of the Editorial Team
The editorial team is responsible for overseeing the journal's archiving and preservation practices. These responsibilities include:
