Guide for Authors
General Requirements
Manuscripts submitted to EduMa must strictly follow the official journal template to ensure consistency in formatting and academic presentation. Authors are required to prepare their manuscripts using Microsoft Word format (.doc or .docx) on A4 paper with margins set to 3 cm for the top and bottom, and 2.5 cm for the left and right. The manuscript should be written using Century Schoolbook font with single line spacing throughout the document. Submissions must be original works that have not been published previously and are not under consideration for publication elsewhere. All manuscripts must be free from plagiarism and self-plagiarism and must comply with academic ethical standards.
Title and Author Information
The title of the manuscript should be written in Title Case using bold 14-point Century Schoolbook font. It must clearly and concisely reflect the main variables and scope of the study without including location names or the year of the study. Author names must be written in full without academic titles, followed by their institutional affiliations, including department and institution names. The corresponding author must provide a complete mailing address and an active email address to facilitate communication during the editorial and review process.
Article Information Section
The article information section must follow the format provided in the EduMa template, including details such as article history, citation format, and DOI. Authors are required to ensure that all metadata, including received, accepted, and published dates, are accurately provided. This section must remain consistent with the template format and should not be modified structurally.
Abstract and Keywords
The abstract must be written in English as a single paragraph and should not exceed 250 words. It should clearly describe the background of the study, research objectives, methodology, main findings, and conclusions. Authors must ensure that the abstract is written in proper academic English and not generated through automatic translation tools, as this may lead to semantic inaccuracies. Keywords should consist of three to five relevant terms separated by semicolons, representing the core topics of the manuscript.
Introduction
The introduction should present a clear and concise background of the research, highlighting the research problem, its urgency, and its relevance within the field of mathematics education. Authors are expected to identify the research gap by reviewing relevant literature and demonstrating the novelty of the study. The research objectives must be explicitly stated, and the introduction should avoid excessive citation as well as the inclusion of tables or figures.
Literature Review or Theoretical Framework
When applicable, the literature review or theoretical framework should provide a comprehensive discussion of theories, models, or prior studies that underpin the research. This section should establish a strong conceptual foundation and demonstrate how the study contributes to the existing body of knowledge.
Methods
The methods section must describe the research design, participants or sample, data collection procedures, and data analysis techniques in a clear and systematic manner. Authors should justify the appropriateness of the chosen methods and ensure that sufficient detail is provided to allow replication of the study. If previously established methods are used, they should be cited appropriately, and any modifications must be clearly explained.
Results and Discussion
The results and discussion must be presented in a single integrated section, as required by the EduMa template. The results should be reported systematically and directly address the research objectives. The discussion should interpret the findings by linking them to relevant theories and previous studies, highlighting similarities, differences, and contributions to the field. Authors are encouraged to use tables, figures, and diagrams to support their findings, ensuring that all visual elements are clearly labeled and referenced within the text.
Conclusion and Implications
The conclusion should be written in paragraph form and must summarize the main findings of the study as direct answers to the research questions. Authors should also present the theoretical and practical implications of the study, discuss its limitations, and provide recommendations for future research. This section should be concise yet reflective of the overall contribution of the study.
Author Contributions
Authors must provide a clear description of their individual contributions to the study. Contributions may include conceptualization, methodology, data analysis, writing, supervision, and validation. All authors must confirm that they have read and approved the final version of the manuscript and agree to be accountable for its content.
Funding
Authors are required to disclose any financial support received for the research. If the study was not funded, this must be explicitly stated. If funding was received, the name of the funding agency and the grant number must be provided.
Data Availability
Authors must indicate the availability of the data used in the study. Data may be made publicly available through a repository, provided upon reasonable request, or restricted due to ethical considerations. The statement must clearly reflect the accessibility of the data supporting the research findings.
Disclosure Statement
Authors must declare any potential conflicts of interest related to the study. If no conflicts of interest exist, this must be explicitly stated in the manuscript.
Acknowledgments
The acknowledgment section should recognize individuals or institutions that have contributed significantly to the research but do not meet the criteria for authorship. Authors must ensure that acknowledgments do not reveal their identities during the peer review process.
Tables and Figures
Tables and figures must be presented clearly and consistently. Each table should be numbered consecutively and include a descriptive title placed above it. Figures, including graphs and diagrams, should also be numbered consecutively, with captions provided below each figure. All tables and figures must be referenced in the text, and their design should ensure readability even when resized.
References
References must be written in accordance with APA 7th edition style. Authors are strongly encouraged to use reference management software such as Mendeley, Zotero, or EndNote to ensure accuracy and consistency. All cited sources must appear in the reference list, and the inclusion of DOI links is highly recommended to enhance accessibility and credibility.
Submission and Review Process
Manuscripts must be submitted through the EduMa Open Journal System (OJS). Authors are required to register, upload their manuscripts, and complete all metadata fields accurately. All submissions undergo a double-blind peer review process involving at least two reviewers. Based on the reviewers’ evaluations, manuscripts may be accepted, revised, or rejected.
Ethical Considerations
Authors must ensure that their work adheres to ethical research and publication standards. This includes maintaining originality, ensuring data integrity, avoiding plagiarism, and properly citing all sources. Any form of academic misconduct will result in rejection or retraction of the manuscript.
