Retraction and Correction Policy

Jurnal Studi Hadis Nusantara (JSHN) is committed to maintaining the accuracy, integrity, and reliability of the scholarly record. Corrections and retractions are handled carefully and only when necessary to protect the integrity of published research.

Article Retraction

An article may be retracted when there is substantial evidence that its findings or publication process are seriously compromised, including:

  • Major errors that invalidate the findings or conclusions.

  • Fabrication, falsification, or manipulation of research data.

  • Plagiarism or significant ethical violations.

  • Redundant or duplicate publication.

  • Serious authorship or research integrity violations.

  • Other circumstances that substantially undermine the reliability of the published article.

The retraction process generally involves:

  1. The concern is reported to the Editor.

  2. The Editor evaluates the concern and may request clarification or evidence from the authors.

  3. The Editor may consult reviewers, Editorial Board members, or relevant experts when necessary.

  4. A final decision is made based on the available evidence and applicable publication ethics standards.

  5. A retraction notice is published and linked to the original article to maintain the transparency of the scholarly record.

A retracted article remains part of the journal's publication history, but its status is clearly identified as retracted.

Article Correction

A correction may be issued when an article remains fundamentally reliable but contains an error that requires amendment.

Corrections may include:

  • Publisher Correction (Erratum): for errors introduced during the editorial or production process.

  • Author Correction (Corrigendum): for important errors originating from the authors.

  • Addendum: for additional information necessary to clarify or complement the published article.

Corrections may concern factual information, data, references, author information, or other content that could affect the accuracy or interpretation of the article.

The decision to issue a correction is made by the Editor after considering the nature and significance of the reported error.

Article Removal

In exceptional circumstances, an article may be removed from the journal's online platform, particularly when its continued availability creates significant legal, ethical, or serious public harm.

When an article is removed, its bibliographic metadata and a notice explaining the reason for removal will be retained whenever possible to preserve the integrity of the journal's publication record.

Article Replacement

If a published article contains serious errors that require replacement, JSHN may consider publishing a corrected version following the retraction and correction procedures.

The original publication record and retraction or replacement notice will remain linked to the corrected article to ensure transparency and maintain a complete publication history.

JSHN follows recognized publication ethics principles, including the COPE guidelines, in handling retractions and corrections.
